The Adaptability of Migrant Children in Beijing (Funded by Undergraduate Student Research Fund, BNU)
- Since the last decade of the 20th century, an increasing number of People in countryside have swarmed to cities for better jobs and higher wages. In the procession of migrants, the number of children is gradually incresed year by year. With the environmental variance, migrant children have to adapt themselves to life in cities. A multitude of previous researches show that migrnant children always feel lonely and alienated by the native. The gole of our group work is to facilitate migrant children to acclimatize themselves to life in Beijing by understanding the history &cultule of Beijing, forming community resposibility and hastening communication with peers in the group work.
The Ethical Community in Market Economy——A Case Study of Hancunhe (Funded by Undergraduate Student Research Fund, BNU)
- The village commune in the background of market economy is now existing in the Chinese villages. These particular villages are incredibly richer than the counterparts in the wide countryside. Hancunhe,a village in the suburb of Beijing, is a case in point. With the question that How the collective economy can bring about high efficiency and welfare, I conducted the research under the guidance of Professor Hui Yan.
- According to theoretical thought and field investigation, we figured out that the reason why Hancunhe Village has attained self-realization as an ethical community lies in the fact that it can realize the transition from the individual interest to collective interest by means of inner moral restrict. Different strategies, namely, to be upright within and to be tactful without, have been adopted to run the community, in other words, moral values have been highlighted inside the community to keep it as a unity, and effective means have also been taken to meet the outside challenge.
The Public’s Expectations on the Quality of Students and Quality-focused Education(funded by Beijing Planning Office of Educational Science)
- Current students' qualities have great effects on our country's advancement and prosperity in future. According to the investigation results, the public are not satisfied with students' qualities generally. The various qualities of students are not harmoniously developed. The quality-focused education should underline the significance of students' psychological and moral qualities and its goal is to cultivate all-round students.
